Downsview Sparkling Cider

Categories: ,

Whilst the weather has been challenging for the vines, our apple and pear trees in the small orchard adjacent to the vineyard have flourished this year, producing a bumper 2010 crop. We absolutely couldn’t resist dusting off our scrat and making some fantastic Kentish cider for you to try (we’re really pleased with the results, it’s delicious).

As is the traditional Kent way, we blend a mixture of cooking, eating, and cider apples into the mix (ciders from the South West predominantly just use cider varietals). This produces a crisp, fresh and dry cider, brimming with quintessential English garden aromas and flavours. It’s not too heavy at 5.5% abv and is best served chilled, or gently warmed and mulled with a cinnamon stick (perfect for nights curled up by the fire; add a dash of honey, if you like).
